I have signed up for the game jam from the link my professor has sent in the teams chat of our classroom online. There was an issue with me getting the email everyone else was receiving after they signed up but this was solved when I emailed the professor in charge of the game jam and I got the email. On Friday, I was put in a group with Alison O'Donovan, Finn Burke Power and Eoin Harrington. My group immediately started brainstorming and in under half an hour we came to a conclusion. My history with game making using Roblox put us at an advantage and so the group agreed to make a Roblox game. 



The letters on the sides of each idea represent each persons name initials.
The three links beside the Roblox game idea were pieces of inspiration I wanted to show to the group as my team members were not familiar with Roblox and Roblox Studio. At first I found it difficult to teach three people something I have been teaching myself for months but the next day on Saturday they got the hang of it. Whenever my team members had an issue I would explain what I was fixing for them as I screen shared. They took each piece of feedback on board and at the end of the day we were finished. Eoin Harrington was assigned the easy food category and Finn and Alison were assigned to create the content and the medium family stage stage. I created the lobby and then the advanced sports side. From my advanced side the rest of the team could copy and paste the structures I made and they could create the obby in whatever way they pleased on their sides. We had an issue with the categories after I made the lobby and we were ready to continue into the actual purpose of the game. This issue was two members thought it would be better to create around 10 categories without an easy, medium and advanced but I had to inform them that this might take more time than expected and if we extend the lobby and if we ran out of time the lab would have to be shrunk. We all compensated and decided to do easy, medium and hard with categories and if we have time left over we could decide on extending the lobby or not. In the end we decided to keep it with the three stages with one category each. I enjoyed working with my group. We were all active all day without any breaks and although this isn't exactly good we were one of the first teams finished. On Sunday we just cleaned up some bits like making the font bolder, we put a creator section in the lobby and put love hearted shaped balcony hand rails. We sent it to our friends, family and fellow peers to receive feedback/ criticism and everyone said we should keep it as it is and many liked the white and pastel pink aesthetic and even called it "cute". I recommend the game jam to anybody thinking of signing up next year and I will be signing up again next year. I cannot wait. The only con of this experience was falling behind on other modules that week and knowing this game was part of my modules final grade was very stressful therefore everything had to be perfect.
